Theodore W. Reuter

Attorney licensed in Oregon, Washington and Idaho

Ted helps his clients resolve conflicts and solve problems. In 2008, he graduated from Willamette College of Law magna cum laude, with a certification in Dispute Resolution. He spent his early years in the legal profession in eastern Oregon and western Idaho, handling any civil litigation matters that came through the door including wrongful death, legal malpractice defense, landlord tenant law, employment law, as well as, contested guardianship, conservatorship, trust and will contest matters.

After seven years in eastern Oregon, Ted joined the Oregon State Bar as an Assistant Disciplinary Counsel. In that role he investigated and prosecuted allegations of attorney misconduct, taught Continuing Legal Education classes on legal ethics and briefed and argued several cases before the Oregon Supreme Court. These days Ted handles matters in probate court for fiduciaries, beneficiaries and other interested persons. This includes will contests and trust litigation, as well as contested guardianship and conservatorship matters, at the trial court level and on appeal.

With over a decade of experience in the law, Ted knows his way around a court room. He also knows that the only people who enjoy being in court are the attorneys. Ted works with his clients to craft practical solutions, so they can resolve the matters that can be resolved and only litigate the matters that need to be litigated. His clients can count on him for honest, thorough analysis of the pros and cons of their options and thorough, forceful execution of the agreed upon plan of action.

Ted has extensive experience advising professionals, particularly attorneys, about their obligations under the regulatory codes that govern their conduct and representing them before the regulatory bodies that license them. Ted’s time at the Bar gives him insight into what regulators want to know and what the adjudicators will care about. He leverages that knowledge to provide practical advice for the realities of practice.

Ted presents CLEs a couple times a year regarding attorney ethics and topics in estate litigation. When Ted is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, traveling, reading, and playing chess.
